The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has called for training and re-training of journalist to improve their productivity and face the challenge of twenty first century.
Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara made the call while speaking as Royal Father at the twenty twenty two World Radio Day celebrations held at the Premises Katsina State Radio.
According to him only through training and retraining journalist would improve their productivity and stand the taste of time.
The traditional ruler also called for recruitment of more staff for all the media stations to fill in the gap of the retired and the death to keep the fire of professionalism in the journalism industry burning.
The Kanwan Katsina who underscores the importance of radio in the broadcasting industry called for the establishment of state owned FM stations in Daura, Katsina and Funtua zones of the state.
The Monarch while congratulating Radio Stations in Katsina State for Joining their counterparts in the world to celebrate the day also congratulate those who received award of commendation for their duties on various categories.
The Secretary to the Government of Katsina State who was represented by Director Press Aliyu Abdullahi Yar’adua presented copies of English to Hausa Dictionaries to all the radios stations to improve on their quality of translations.
Others who spoke at the event includes the chairman of the occasionchiefs judge of Katsina state Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, and Member representing Katsina Local government at the State Assembly Abubakar Aliyu Albaba among others.
