Security operatives in Kaduna State have discovered three more corpses following mob violence on Monday at two locations in both Kaura and Jema’a local government areas of the state. This brings the casualty figure to 37.
This follows Sunday’s attack in some communities in Kaura Local Government Area where several people died.
Giving an update on the attack, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said the body of one of the victims, identified as Ibrahim Isiyaku, was picked around Kagoro Roundabout in Kaura Local Government Area while two more corpses were recovered at a location called ‘Binzom’ behind the Kafanchan campus of Kaduna State University (KASU).
The deceased were identified as Malam Ibrahim Rilwanu and Malam Lawali Zubairu, both of No.5 Emir Road, Kafanchan.

Aruwan also disclosed that a worship centre, the Fountain of Life Baptist Church, Kafanchan was attacked and its glass windows shattered by some hoodlums on Monday.
Furthermore, on the same day, a bus belonging to the Baptist School of Health Technology, Kafanchan was attacked and vandalized while the driver of the bus, one Mr Bamaiyi, sustained cutlass injuries and is receiving treatment in a clinic.
In another development, security agencies said some hoodlums attacked and burnt down two herders’ settlements in Zauru and Kurdan in Zangon Kataf LGA.
The attack, however, prompted the Chairman of Zangon Kataf local government, Mr. Francis Sani Zimbo, to summon an emergency security meeting with traditional and community leaders of Kurdan and Zauru over the incident.
