The Founder and Chairman Board of Trustees of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam has said that the recently concluded political primaries of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) showed that the Igbos of the South east extraction have been betrayed again.
Dr. Aniebonam who made his candid view known in an interview with our editor in his hallowed office in Apapa advised Southeast politicians to go back to the drawing board and reposition themselves.
“The Igbo have lost in PDP and lost in APC. The Northern members in the APC in their wisdom conceded power to the South and when it came to the South, the Southwest and South -South who have had their own turn came to contest with their Southeast counterparts, why the betrayal? To fill this gap, God in His wisdom provided the window for an Igbo man to work with a trusted personality in the person of Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano. Kwankwaso is a man that carries a divine mandate to deliver Nigeria and unite the country. So, now that the Igbo have lost their chances in the two major political parties, what is pragmatic for the Igbo should be to restrategise on remain relevant in politics. So, if we were to go by the position of OHANAEZE that no Igbo man should accept the position of Vice President, then, we are not playing politics. What we need now is an Igbo extraction who will pair with Kwankwaso because it is when you are there that you are in a position to know when decisions are reached and if you are not there, you can’t make an input. What we need now is to find an Igbo man without any baggage to join forces with Kwankwaso and reunite Nigerians. We have been betrayed, we have been betrayed, we have to bounce back and join forces with a man that carries a divine mandate. Peter Obi’s hands are tied because of the position of Ohanaeze but the truth is that we have fallen and the solution is to recover fast and move on.
Recall that Aniebonam had said the NNPP would provide a leader that will stop system collapse in the country.T while fielding questions from the media, said that the country is hungry for a good leader.
According to the Umuawulu – Awka born High Chief, “I am the spiritual leader, founder, and Chairman Board of Trustees of NNPP. I am here to give direction to them on how to go about this; our message is that Nigerians need a Nigeria of their dreams, where system collapse in the country will be a thing of the past.
“People are frustrated; NNPP would provide a leader that has what it takes, that is truly a Nigerian and patriot that would be able to look and remove all the artificial impediments and human barriers that create problems for this country.
“NNPP would provide Nigeria with the greatest leader ever seen and that leader would reunite Nigeria and start all over again because the system has collapsed; a leader that would rather make a wrong decision than not make at all, a leader that is courageous and straight forward.
“The issue of marginalization would be unbundled in line with the federal character. I have been in NNPP for the last 21 years and I have not joined the All Progressives Congress APC or Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. But I am not there because I have an ideology. The journey of a new Nigeria has started with NNPP.
“With the emergence of our Presidential aspirant, Kwankwaso, and his track record, he was in PDP and APC, yet he picked courage to forgo those platforms, and decided to test his popularity in Nigeria with the NNPP. I have always said that what is important is a great Nigeria.
“Nigerians want to live a good and happy life. Election could divide us but then the economy should unite us. People should support the government than go into the streets”, Dr. Aniebonam, the doyen of Freight Forwarding Practice eloquently remarked.
