The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA) on Friday, commended the Nigerian Army College of Logistics (NACOL), for it’s rich tradition of professionalism and training excellence for Military Officers.
The CIOTA Deputy President, Darlington N. Ofor gave the commendation during the graduation ceremony and passing out of Army Officers for Logistics Management Course 18 of 2021 at the Nigerian Army College of Logistics (NACOL).
CIOTA attended because some of the Army officers who benefited from the training shared CIOTA ideals; and so the body attended as a mark of honour and public identification, to strengthen it’s synergy with them.
“The collaboration with the Nigerian Army College of Logistics is in line with CIOTA’s mandate; and the continuous synergy with relevant institutions for the advancement of the transportation sector”, Darlington Ofor who was represented by the Institute’s National Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Chizoba Anyika, stated.
The CIOTA Boss harped on the body’s vision of continuous drive for professionalism that would enable officers and practitioners to make exceptional value delivery in their organisations.
“The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria is delighted that the Nigerian Army College of Logistics is committed and focused on the mandate for which it was established in strategically equipping middle-class and senior officers of the Armed Forces with the necessary skills, knowledge and competence in military logistics, transportation and strategic Management, especially during crisis and warfare”.
Congratulating the graduands, the CIOTA Boss also said: “It cannot be over emphasized, the strategic imperative of logistics in the planning, organisation and execution of strategic operations.
“The Institute (CIOTA) believes that the exposure of officers to appropriate training will not only enhance their core professional competence but will ensure optimum performance”, Ofor further stated.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Commandant, Major General M.O Enendu emphasised that the issue of training and retraining of Armed Personnel has assumed an important dimension in view of unfolding global challenges and modern advancements in military warfare.
Enendu highlighted that the Armed Forces have also made it mandatory for officers to be exposed to strategic logistic operations and management trainings, offered at the College.
“For a vigilant institution committed to excellence, the Nigerian Army has continued to ensure that its officers and personnel are exposed to modern skills, techniques, technology and strategies in military logistics operations and warfare, thereby continuously equipping them for the challenges ahead”, Major General Enendu said.
He maintained that the graduating officers went through tedious training in Military Logistics operations, leadership and strategic management with the hope that the knowledge acquired through the training will boost professionalism, military tactics and their skills in readiness for any exigencies of duties
