The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare in Kankara Local Government area of Katsina state, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara ‘mni’ has directed all village and ward heads in his domain to ensure all eligible persons have registered and obtained their permanent voter’s card PVC.
The Traditional ruler was speaking when the Kankara local government INEC Electoral Officer Malam Yunusa Abdu paid him a courtesy visit in his palace.
He called on the communities of the area to take advantage of the time extension by the INEC to obtain the PVC ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The traditional ruler stressed the importance of the PVC which is a constitutional right of every eligible citizen to exercise their franchise.
Earlier speaking the Kankara Local Government Electoral Office Malam Yunasa Abdu said the visit was to inform the district head that additional registration machine was provided by the state headquarters to decongest the center and ensure all eligible persons have registered in the area.

Malam Yunusa Abdu told the district head that the exercise targeted persons that reach the age of eighteen, those that change their voting unit or relocate and those that lost their PVC.
He therefore solicited the support and villages targeted by the exercise in Ketare District include Ketare, Hurya, Tsamiyar Jino, Kuka Sheka, Gundawa, Tudu, Gurbi, Katoge and Pawwa.
It could be recalled that the kanwan katsina had collaborated with the kankara office of INEC on the continuous Voter registration and collection of PVC by all those that are registered in the area.
Alhaji Bello who is a former Controller with the Nigeria Customs Service, has become a rallying point of all government agencies who make use of his revered institution for ease of proper dissemination of information and creation of awareness
