Ketare Monarch, Bello Honored with a Wave of Tributes on 24th Anniversary

The Kanwan Katsina III, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, ‘mni’, has continued to bask in an outpouring of admiration and well-wishes as he marks a remarkable 24 years on the throne as the District Head of Ketare in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Prominent among the well-wishers is the National President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), His Excellency Ambassador Obi Okafor, ‘mni’, who joined thousands of distinguished Nigerians in honoring the revered monarch.  

Joining thousands of Nigerians in celebrating the revered monarch, Ambassador Okafor lauded Alhaji Bello’s visionary leadership and prayed for divine wisdom, protection, and strength to continue his impactful reign.

The congratulatory letter, personally signed by Ambassador Okafor on behalf of AANI, highlighted Alhaji Bello’s monarch’s vast experience and urged him to leverage it in positioning Ketare as a beacon among progressive communities. This marks a continuation of the long-standing camaraderie between the monarch and AANI, of which he became a member in 2013 as a participant of senior Executive Course ‘SEC’ 35 at National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies NIPSS Kuru Jos

The tribute also underscored the enduring bond between the great Alumni Association and the Monarch, a relationship that began in 2013 when Alhaji Bello became a member of the association during the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 35 at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.

Beyond AANI’s accolades, a barrage of commendations has poured in from esteemed groups and individuals alike.

The Ketare Development Association, the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Katsina State Council, and Katsina State Radio have all paid glowing tributes to the monarch.

The Katsina State Radio specifically praised his unwavering dedication to his people, wishing him continued success and a long life of service.

It is interesting to note that Kanwan Katsina was turbaned by the late Emir of Katsina Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Kabir Usman CFR on 4th November 2000 at the Emirs Palace Katsina under the watchful eyes of so many dignitaries from all works of life.

Recall that Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara’s illustrious career and legacy extend beyond his throne. As a retired Comptroller of Nigeria Customs Service, he served the nation with distinction for 35 years, earning recognition as the pioneer Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Apapa Customs Command in Lagos.

His contributions—both past and present—reflect a lifetime of leadership, dedication, and service to his community and country. The 24th anniversary celebrations have cemented his reputation as a unifying figure, a custodian of tradition, and a visionary leader whose impact resonates far and wide.
