The Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) Mr. Akutah Pius Ukeyima has assumed
duty at the Council’s Headquarters, with a seeming solemn pledge to work as a team, with a view to realising the mandate of the Council within the context of Marine and Blue Economy.

Deputy Director, Public Relations, NSC, the ES/CEO who was received by Management and staff, conveyed his intention to hit the ground running.

Ukeyima said Shippers’ Council is integral to the success of the agenda of President Bola AhmedBy
Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola on Marine and Blue Economy
The NSC Boss said,” Over the years, the nation has been mulling the diversification of the economy
from oil dependency to other revenue generating sectors”. This , he said, is the first time the Federal
Government has taken a bold and pragmatic step by creating the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy
According to him, with the creation of the new Ministry, the Council’s mandate becomes a lot more robust
He pointed out that there is a lot of work to be done, noting that Council’s staff are highly knowledgeable, experienced, and also equal to the task ahead. He pledged to be a servant leader.
He promised that his tenure will reward hard work and commitment. His words, “Sometimes we don’t
appreciate knowledge but moving forward, we will reward hard work.”
He thanked the Management and staff of the Council for the warm reception.
