Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration And Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh has a gain placed national security on the front burner, even as he pledged to sustain the agency efforts in reducing piracy in Nigerian waters up to the Gulf of Guinea.
Dr. Jamoh made the solemn pledge recently when he paid a visit to the Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor at the Defense Headquarters at Abuja.

According to the NIMASA DG, “The removal of War Risk Insurance Premium on Nigerian-bound vessels (and their cargo) is premised on the sustained security of merchant shipping in Nigerian Waters and the greater Gulf of Guinea region.
“We must continue this collaboration to ensure that the gains in recent times regarding the reduction of piracy results in the removal of war risk insurance premium”, he assured.
