The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), yesterday, said it was moving into the next stage of its agitation for an independent Biafra nation with the cleansing of the region of all criminal elements.
Spokesperson of the group, Emma Powerful, in a statement, said the move would see the arrest and prosecution of criminal gangs terrorising and kidnapping people for ransom in the region.
He also listed those snatching people’s cars and selling lands in the South East for RUGA among those that would be arrested.
He warned those behind acts of criminalities in the region to stay off saying those arrested would be detained and prosecuted in line with IPOB’s judicial system.
Powerful said the move was taken to prepare citizens for the birth of a new nation where law and order would be the norm. He also urged Biafrains in the Diaspora to respect the order as there is no country in the world that operates without law and order.
“This new initiative of IPOB is to prepare descent and responsive citizenry in preparation for the birth of a new nation of Biafra where law and order will be a norm. The new nation of Biafra will soon emerged and nobody born of a woman can change or stop its coming…
“Let it be known to all persons residents in Biafra land (Biafrans and non-Biafrans) that this information is for you. Even if you’re a security officer, if you commit any crime in our land, we will arrest and prosecute you in line with IPOB judicial system. Therefore, be mindful of your actions because nothing will stop us not to arrest you if you commit any crime,” Powerful said.
