The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, says that the North is under siege, following the latest attack on the Abuja-Kaduna bound train on Monday.
A statement signed by its General Secretary, Murtala Aliyu, the Forum says as a guardian and custodian of the welfare and integrity of the North, it is tired of crying out on the issue of security, and other challenges, in the northern part of the country.
The Forum laments that since both air and rail systems out of Kaduna have been compromised, it expects that a sensitive government should protect the only route which is the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
The ACF also described as unacceptable, the frequency of attacks on towns, villages, highways and recently train tracks and airports, noting that banditry and terrorism have plunged the northern economy with a new ploy to besiege Kaduna state, the gateway to the northern part of the country.

According to the statement, the Forum regrets that, despite all efforts by security agencies and governments at various levels, more still needs to be done to put an end to such acts of banditry and terrorism.
The Forum therefore calls on the federal and state governments to as a matter of urgency revisit the security architecture, and cautions on what it terms as unnecessary attacks that stretches the security and economic services of the country.
The Forum therefore calls on the government to put a 24-hour surveillance on the route, noting that the patience of the northern population has been exhausted, but called on its people, to remain positive and law abiding.
