Less than 24 hours after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the outgoing Secretary-General of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, Muhammad Sanusi Barkindo, is dead.
He reportedly died at about 11pm on Tuesday at the age of 63.
Though the cause of his death was not disclosed in the tweet, Barkindo was received at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari, who lauded his six-year tenure as OPEC Secretary-General and described him as a worthy ambassador of Nigeria
