The communities of Ketare District in Kankara Local Government Area have called on Katsina State Government to rehabilitate the dilapidated Gora-Ketare-Kankara road.
This is contained in a letter addressed to the Managing Director of Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency KASAROMA Engineer Sirajo YAzid Abukur, which was made available to newsmen in Katsina.
Presenting the letter onbehalf of the communities, the Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara explained that some portion of the road were washed away by heavy downpour and bridges are under serious threat of breaking down and possible collapse.
Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara said the road that links very important communities in Malumfashi and Kankara local government needs urgent attention.
The traditional ruler explained that commuters from Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states are plying the road en-route to Kano on daily basis.
He urged the agency to take urgent action before the condition of the road deteriorates to save the lives and properties of commuters.
Receiving the letter, the managing director, Katsina state road maintenance agency engineer Sirajo Yazid Abukur express gratitude the Kanwan Katsina for presenting the complain of his community.
Engineer Sirajo Abukur said the agency is aware of the condition of the road since last year which has worsened now due to the heavy downpour experienced and assured the Kanwan Katsina that efforts will be made to address the issue.
The Kanwan Katsina also presented some photographs of the damaged portion of the road to the Managing Director.
