What was supposed to be a youthful competition for affection has ended in tragedy in Tunga Wawa community, Kontagora, where a young man, Tanko Sule, allegedly murdered his rival, Nasiru Amadu, over a love interest.
According to sources, the fatal clash happened on Friday night when Sule, accompanied by some friends, stormed Amadu’s residence. The group reportedly beat him mercilessly until he collapsed, struggling to breathe.
Amadu’s mother, who found him bleeding from the mouth, raised the alarm as neighbours rushed him first to a local chemist and later to Kawon Kontagora Hospital. Despite frantic efforts, he died around 10am on Saturday.
In his final moments, Amadu is said to have named Sule as his attacker, recounting how Sule had been harassing and insulting him for daring to propose to the girl they were both pursuing.
Community members confirmed that police have since arrested Sule, while investigations into the shocking love-triangle killing are underway.
