The Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has donated relief materials to the Imo Government in support of families affected by unknown gunmen’s attacks, COVID-19, #EndSARS and other incidents in the state.

Some of the items donated included: 15 bags of 50kg rice, 25 bags of 25kg rice, 80 tubers of yam, 12 bags of 100kg white garri and 12 bags of 12kg yellow garri.

Jamoh, who was represented by the Director, Legal Services and Board Secretary, Mr Victor Egejuru, added that the items would assist the state government to cater for disaster victims.

He pledged continual support of the agency to the state government.

Receiving the items, Mrs Julia Ukaigwe, the Head of Administration and Finance, Government House, commended NIMASA for the gesture.

Ukaigwe said the relief materials arrived at a critical time, especially now that the state was faced with so many challenges, including insecurity.

While noting that government alone could not cater for the needs of all the citizens, she said Gov. Hope Uzodimma had done so much in alleviating the problems of the Imo people.
