There are indications that the ongoing construction work at the Second Niger Bridge may be disrupted following the demands made by some aggrieved landowners popularly referred to as landlords whose properties have been consumed by the Second Niger Bridge project.

The aggrieved property owners at the Asaba axis of the ongoing construction of the Second Niger Bridge in a protest letter addressed to the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola decried the fact that the expected compensation for their properties consumed by the Second Bridge project has not been fulfilled, despite being barred from accessing their properties at the line connecting the Bridge

The letter says the permanent secretary in the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing had assured the aggrieved property owners that the expected compensation approved in May 19, 2018 will be paid as soon as the Bureau for Public Enterprise BPE approves the link road.

While noting that work has resumed at phase 2A of the link road since the 7th of December 2021, the property owners are appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari to wade into their delayed compensation
