The Secretary of the Customs Consultative Committee (CCC), Fwdr. Eugene Nweke, has congratulated former Area Controller of the Tin Can Island Port Command, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, on his elevation to the rank of Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
In a statement issued on Saturday, Nweke described Onyeka’s promotion as a well-deserved recognition of his years of dedicated service, professionalism, and commitment to national development.
According to him, Onyeka distinguished himself throughout his career as a disciplined and visionary Customs officer whose contributions significantly impacted the growth of the service and the nation’s economy.
Nweke noted that Onyeka’s tenure at the Tin Can Island Port Command was marked by outstanding achievements, including the generation of over ₦1.6 trillion in revenue, major anti-smuggling successes, and several operational reforms that enhanced efficiency within the command.
He said these accomplishments reflected Onyeka’s strong leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and administrative competence.
“On behalf of the Customs Consultative Committee and in my personal capacity as a longtime friend and associate of over three decades, I warmly congratulate Franklin Onyeka on his well-earned promotion to the prestigious rank of Assistant Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service,” Nweke stated.
He further described the newly promoted ACG as an officer with exceptional human relations skills, humility, and a deep sense of patriotism.
“Frank Onyeka remains one of the finest and most refined Customs officers whose dedication to national service, institutional growth, and stakeholder engagement has consistently stood him out within the Customs community,” he added.
Nweke also praised Onyeka’s ability to build relationships, resolve conflicts, and inspire confidence among officers, stakeholders, and industry operators, noting that his leadership style promoted professionalism, mutual respect, and institutional harmony.
He expressed confidence that Onyeka would bring his vast experience and expertise to bear in his new national assignment and continue contributing meaningfully to the strengthening of the Nigeria Customs Service and the country’s economic and security objectives.
“As he assumes greater responsibilities, I have no doubt that ACG Franklin Onyeka will continue to serve with excellence, wisdom, and integrity,” Nweke said.
He prayed for greater accomplishments, sound health, and divine guidance for the senior Customs officer as he begins a new phase in his career.
