
The newly elected Executive Council (EXCO) of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Katsina State Council, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Katsina State Customs Command as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the media and the Nigeria Customs Service.
The delegation, led by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Aminu Dandagoro, was accompanied by the Kanwan Katsina III and District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, who also serves as Patron of the NUJ Katsina State Council and is a former Customs Comptroller.

Speaking during the visit at the Customs Command Headquarters in Katsina, the NUJ leadership said the visit was aimed at formally introducing the newly elected EXCO to the Customs Area Controller and fostering a cordial working relationship with the command.
Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara congratulated the Customs Area Controller on his recent promotion and posting to Katsina State, describing his appointment as well deserved. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the media and security agencies in promoting public awareness, national development, and effective service delivery.
The NUJ Chairman, Comrade Aminu Dandagoro, also assured the Customs Command of the union’s continued support and cooperation, particularly in the area of responsible journalism and dissemination of accurate information on the activities of the service.

In his response, the Customs Area Controller appreciated the visit and pledged to maintain an open-door policy while strengthening the existing relationship between the command and members of the press in Katsina State.
