The Executive Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Apapa Chapter, Hon. Emeka Chukwumalu, has delivered a powerful Easter message, urging maritime stakeholders and Nigerians to embrace forgiveness, love, and tolerance as Christians mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Drawing from the profound sacrifice of Christ, Chukwumalu cited John 15:13 — “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” — stressing that such selflessness must inspire Nigerians to put others first and promote unity across all sectors.
He described Christ’s death for humanity as the ultimate lesson in compassion and humility, noting that a culture of selflessness would not only strengthen trust but also create a more transparent and law-abiding business environment, particularly within the maritime industry.
According to him, when Nigerians prioritize peace and mutual respect, it fosters smoother transactions, reduces conflict, and enhances collaboration among diverse groups.
Chukwumalu also called on Christians, fresh from the 40-day Lenten fast, to intensify prayers for Nigeria’s economic growth and improved security. He emphasized that national progress is not driven by policies alone, but by the collective moral responsibility and spiritual commitment of citizens.
Extending his message beyond Nigeria, he urged prayers for peace in conflict-ridden regions, including the Middle East, reminding the global community of Christ’s enduring message of forgiveness, love, and tolerance.
“Easter is more than a celebration,” he declared. “It is a wake-up call for action — to forgive, to love, and to build peace. If we truly live by these values, Nigeria and the world will witness real transformation.”
